Transitive yet still uses être?

Comment se sont passées tes vacances ?How did your holidays go?
For this lesson example, there is no preposition here (transitive), yet être is still used as the auxiliary? Doesn't this contradict the rule?

M, not sure which rule you are referring to ?

Reflexive verbs always use être as auxiliary in compound tenses.

Conjugate reflexive verbs (+être) in the compound past in French (Le Passé Composé)

Conjugate reflexive verbs in the pluperfect tense in French (Le Plus-que-Parfait)
