Bonjour Hanna,

de + [thing]

Je mange du chocolat -> J'en mange

Je mange des épinards -> J'en mange

Je bois de la confiture - > j'en mange

See link here to supplement Maarten's answer on 'y': y-can-replace-a-thing-object-location

I hope this is helfpul.

Bonne journée !

As examples with “de la” and des are shown, the same is possible with “ du “. The first quiz question I get on the page covers this as well “ Nous achetons du thé ? Tu (...) achètes aussi “.

‘Y’ can replace adverbial phrases of places and things that have preposition ‘à ‘, not de.

Although the answer can be deduced from these, I would agree that an example in the lesson would be good to have.
