Let’s have a look at some words derived from the French term for summer! Let’s start by noting that l’été (summer) is not to be confused with its purely accidental homophone, the past participle of être: j’ai été. But French also has its own special noun for summer holidaymakers: un estivant or une estivante. As for summer activities, you can enjoy des promenades estivales or des festivals estivaux – beware of French agreements! Now you’re ready for a French summer! 🕶️🩴

Bien sûr, je mets de la crème solaire, puis je vais me baigner une première fois dans la mer turquoise. Je reviens m’allonger en étoile de mer pour sécher au soleil. Ensuite, je sors mes lunettes de soleil et mon magazine, et je me relaxe au son des vagues. Le rêve !
