Should have with “house” Verbs...

Nous aurions dû partir plus tôt.

This phrase came up in a test where I had to fill in the “should have” segment with “partir” ...should have left.

I hesitated because I was thinking “partir is a House/être verb.

Please instruct why être verb rules don’t apply in the case.

A Supplementary Question

I know that the exercise is about conjugating "devoir" but the second clause is unusual.

You were supposed to go and see her, but something came up. Will there be an separate exercise for this construction?

 ".... but something came up"   .... " ..... mais tu as eu un empéchement"

C'est x Elle est

In the sentence "She's a French actress", supposing I'm pointing out to a picture of the actress in my hand or the actress is standing herself by my side, presenting her to others, in these cases, can I say "Elle est une actrice française" ? Or even though it remains "C'est une actrice française" ?

When do you use "en face de" vs. "devant"?

For example, I am in front of the school could be: Je suis en face de l'ecole or Je suis devant l'ecole?

This is a number written in English: "2,148.20". How would it be expressed in French?

abovr was a question on the quiz. 

I selected 2 148,20 as the answer.

The engine said that the my answer was nearly correct, and that the correct 

answer is :  2.148,20

?????

In the example “On est partis.” partis is made plural even though on is considered singular. Is this correct?

Regarding the translation of 'the weather was beautiful the whole time!'

Regarding the translation of 'the weather was beautiful the whole time!'

the answer is given as:

il a fait beau tout le temps ! 

BUT an alternative answer is also given:

"il a fait un temps magnifique tout le temps !"

This seems to conflict with the lesson ‘Talking about the weather with il fait + [adjective]’ which states that: -

"Il fait should always be followed by an adjective, and il y a used with nouns."

Could you please clarify as un temps is a noun.
