The position of "prochain/prochaine", relative to nouns.In the following sentence from a quizz: Aujourd'hui, les fantômes ________(choisissent) leur prochaine victime. - Why is "prochaine" positioned before the noun, please? Yet, if we say "next week", we say: "la semaine prochaine". Cheryl

Does ‘Vas-y’ mean ‘Let’s go’ or ‘Go there’ or either, depending on context?

I’ve seen both answers given in the space of half a hour. Does it depend on context or is this a mistake? Or am I mistaken? Merci.

When is joli rather than beau the right word to use?

I was taught that a bâtiment is 'joli' not 'beau'. Is there a reason or rule that explains which adjective to use for different things?

Il fait vent or Il y a du ventHello Kwiziq staff, I read your paragraph about the use of "Il fait ___" being idiomatic and somewhat clunky-sounding. For me, I have been instructed to say "Il fait vent" more times than I can remember (and is found in The Ultimate French Review and Practice, Premium 3rd Edition as a standard weather expression) and have not heard of "Il y a du vent" yet in my studies before encountering this question on your website.
