What is mean by 'gourde de limonade'?

Dictionaries give two different meanings for "dépression" in the weather context - either low pressure system or heavy rains. Low pressure leads to rainstorms, but which is meant in this excercise?
In the suggested translations for 'that already makes two items', 'Cela fait déjà deux objets' is preferred over 'Ca fait déjà deux objets'. But since the register is informal rather than formal I had thought that 'ça' would be more appropriate. Or are there other reasons you might prefer 'cela'?
Is there a quick way to see and hear the difference in vowels and the same vowels accented?
