Hello,
I'm hoping you can clarifying something.
I had to translate the following sentence to French:
This year I remembered her birthday for the first time
I used:
Je me souvenais s'anniversaire pour la première fois.
I was told this conjugation was incorrect and I had to use "je me suis souvenue".
I don't understand why?
Thanks in advance.
I understand that the preposition here has to be en but I can't really get to the bottom of why. Chris has said in this discussion that the form is 's'inscrire en qqch...' but I don't really see this supported by dictionaries where à and dans seem more commonly cited. Is it that the preposition comes before the word quoi ?
Why is en depit d’un prix très élevé wrong?
This was my question, then I answered 'Annie a gagné dix milliers d'euros'.
The system did not accept it. ..okay, maybe I wrote dix milliers de euros - instead of d'.. I guess that was the problem.
However, the explanation I had, was 'Annie a gagné dix mille euros'.
Can I also use the other option above, 'dix milliers d'euros'?
Merciiiiii
Vicky
Hi! I was translating the sentence "Marie invited Julie to go to a concert.
And the right answer was "Marie a invité Julie à un concert".
Can I know the reason for which "à" and "un" are not contracted here please?
Thank you in advance.
Could you say, « À quelle heure est-ce qu'on arrive ? »
Merci pour tous les exemples, mais le rap "maison d'être" contient des prononciations qui diffèrent beaucoup du français standard. Je veux bien exposer les étudiants à des accents differents, mais dans ce cas, c'est exaggéré.

I am confused.. why the “except” if those countries and continents are feminine.. if the except means they are masculine, the (all of them are feminine)” makes no sense!
