The English text 'she lay daydreaming for hours' is translated 'elle restait allongée à rêvasser pendant des heures'.
Does this use of an 'à + infinitive' construction imply some element of purpose (she lay down to daydream) or can it really be used simply to imply simultaneous activity? For example, could you say 'je fait le repassage à écouter la radio...'?
Sorry, but I have absolutely no idea what "for a usage" actually means in the context of an adjective. Can someone very kindly clarify ?
Tu as fait un voyage intéressant pendant les vacances d'été. Décris ce voyage en utilisant le passé composé et l'imparfait (dix phrases).
if there is a noun at the begining of the sentence we have two ways to ask a question ;
est-ce que henry a un sac?
henry a-t-il un sac
can we use the "a" at the begining of the question word?
for example A henry un sac or "ont les femmes des crayons? does it work?

This may be a stupid question but I'm confused by the position of 'le' in these two examples:
'Non, je ne le savais pas ' and 'Non, je ne sais pas le faire'
From looking at the first example I would have assumed the second sentence would be 'Je ne le sais pas faire' - please can you help?
Could I also use 'prudent' instead of 'vigilant'?
When is "we went into (the garden)" "Nous sommes sortis dans le jardin" and when is it "nous sommes allé dans le jardin" The former is used in this exercise but the latter was used in the first exercise "A day with granddad"
