I don't understand...

Hiii so here you have showed us examples but haven't actually explained the function of "ne". What is the point of using "ne" on its own? (I mean when not being paired as ne...pas/ne...que/ne...plus)

I've asked my boyfriend who is french and even he can't explain it to me either haha.

I came across these three sentences and I was wondering why I got them wrong?

The president is reportedly in Brazil today

Le président serait au Brasil aujourd'hui is the answer I'm confused as to why is reportedly is using serait?

The director will reportedly sign the contract le director signerait let contrat is the answer again why is will reportedly using signerait?

It would be prettier if there were more flowers

Ce serait s'il y avait plus de fleurs is the answer again here they used serait as would be prettier. Why is that?

Passer - different meaningsHi - I have a question regarding the verb passer. When passer is used with exams, tests, etc. I recall it means 'to take' (e.g. J'ai passé mes examens = I took my exams) and does not mean 'to pass'. I believe 'réussir' is the better choice?? Recently, I have come across a couple of translations that translate 'J'ai passé mes examens' as 'I passed my exams'. I'm wondering if someone could clarify if it is now acceptable to use passer in the context of 'passing' an exam? Thanks.

When do you use the verb-subject inversion?

Hi, I learned the Est-ce que was a formal way of asking a question. So I thought the verb then would also need an inversion, like: Est-ce que avez-vous une voiture?

When do you use the verb inversion? (I heard actually the inversion is almost not used anymore in normal day France)

attendre POUR une tomate

Je crois que le verbe "attendre" veut dire "to wait for". (J'attends ma mère, le train, etc.)

Pourquoi est-ce qu'on dit ici "alors attendre pendant des mois POUR une tomate".

Expliquez, s'il vous plaît.
