My question
Bonjour UWINEZA
Both are possessive adjectives: "ta" is informal but "votre" has a more formal sense.
If you know the person that you are addressing, then "ta" is appropriate.
If you do not know the person, then "votre" can be more polite, particularly if the person is older than you, for example.
Hope this helps.
Bonne continuation,
Jim
Bonjour UWINEZA,
To supplement Jim's great answer, here are links to lesson on the possessive adjectives and the difference between formal and informal "you":
Notre / nos / votre / vos / leur / leurs = our / your / their (French Possessive Adjectives)
Using Tu and Vous to express three types of you in French (French Subject Pronouns)
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
