I was taking one of the B1 tests and came across this problem. Could you please explain.
For "Do you know what happened?" I was marked wrong for "Savez-vous qu'est-ce qui s'est passé ?"
Only "Savez-vous ce qui s'est passé ?" is accepted. I feel my answer should be accepted.
What would be the difference between “I smell nothing” and I feel nothing”. I thought to feel in this case might require a reflexive construction?
'Il a honte de ne pas plus aider les gens.' I don't understand the use of 'ne pas plus' in the sentence. Shouldn't it be 'ne plus'?
Hi there, just wondering why we don't need to accord the 'grande forme' as 'grandes formes' with the attackers (plural)
"et nos attaquants ne sont pas en grande forme."
Thanks!
Comment: This may be grammatically correct in French, but in English, if you say that two people are ‘kissing themselves’, that would literally mean that each of them is kissing their OWN bodies (or parts of), And of course, this would be bizarre.
Hi, I'm a bit confused if we can use "bon" for a person?
It's from this sentence [Il est très bon] when the "il" refers to Tom Cruise .
Appreciate your help, thanks!
By the time you are ready he will be gone already sounds very Jewish in English, already. The native speaker would say he will already be gone.
Why isn’t the answer dans Le?
Me suis__________________ cours de danse
I noted in the quick lesson that it should be dans la if it is specific and en if it is general. Cours de danse seems specific, but I got the answer wrong.
This comment regards the content rather than the French language practice, so not really that important. The lack of tiebreaks in the deciding set was the case when this exercise was first published a couple of years ago, but now in 2022, all 4 Grand Slam tournaments have standardised and are using tiebreaks in the final set (they go to 10 points rather than to 7 points like in the other sets).
