This phrasing is not how a native English speaker would say this. I think “ Nantes was France’s best city for cycling” would be clearer. As is, it sounds like the city rides bikes.
My question concerns the imparfait conjugation of the verb 'exister' in the sentence:
Aussi, lorsque j'ai appris qu'il existait un musée qui...
I would like to know if conjugating here in the imparfait (existait) does not imply that the museum used to exist, but no longer does. I am inclined to want to conjugate 'exister' in present tense to get around this problem, yet I know its gramatically incorrect to do so. If someone can help, I would greatly appreciate.

Why is this marcher and not aller à pied since it is contrasted by another method of travel?

I found one lesson in “Lawless French” that used blanc and banc as an example of “c” being silent due to the “an” being a nasal vowel. Other individual exceptions were stomach, porc and tabac. So as a rule is the “c” silent when it follows a nasal vowel? Is there any other rule that I can use to cull the list of words that need to be memorized?

I recently did an exercise where I learnt about when colour adjectives stay the same in French, e.g. "When the colour is described by a phrase containing two or more words". The phrase was "la veste bleu canard".
Here though the word "blanches" does agree with "pages" and "alternées", which I thought were the words "blanches" is describing.
I would just like to know the reason for the agreement in that phrase.

Is this correct? Or should it be le tien? Masculine/plural form should be used because the noun is 'les livres'?
