grand- agreement in gender and numberThere are many occasions in French where words have to agree with something else in the sentence. So far, it has been either agreement in *both* gender and number (e.g. conjugating passé composé with être) or no agreement (e.g. conjugating passé composé with avoir). But today I came across the plural of grand-parent: "grands-parents" with an "s" in the middle. Yet, your mother's mother is a "grand-mère", not a "grande-mère". Are there more situations where there is agreement in number but not in gender or vice versa?

Not a single friend"if I wanted to say he has no friends I would write il n'a aucun ami. In english he has no friends is a little different form He hasn't a single friend, that is why I did not use aucun. how in french can one stress not a single friend because their is a difference in english"

position of 2 adjectives describing same nounSentence: I have three pretty (noun): Do I write both French adjectives together, before the noun, please? One is a number (trois) and the other is about beauty (jolis/jolies)= BANGS rule, which ordinarily means that each of these adjectives goes before the noun when on their own; but do they still go before the noun when there are two adjectives, please?
