Does the site have information on the colloquial uses of tenir? "Je vous tiendrai au courant." I'll keep you informed, so it's the metaphorical meaning of keep, not hold or take. There must be other examples.
Pourquoi est-ce que de utilise dans cette phrase--de lui parler--et pas à? Parler à lui ou parler de lui?
For indicating "a relationship soured", can we use s'aigrir or aigrir as verbs?
I have been doing these exercises weekly for five years and I just realized the true purpose of the dots under the play button. Pushing on them allows one to isolate a part of the recording for repeated listening. How utterly helpful! What a slow learner I am in regard to technology! I am posting this because there are others who might be similarly challenged. A better approach would be to highlight this feature beyond an individual exercise.
"Je suis le plus sympa garçon de l'école."
This is another example (like the earlier "C'est la plus rapide voiture du monde") that kwizik says is correct, but both my french speaking friend and Gemini says is incorrect . Could someone please check and confirm?
There's another one:
"C'est la plus grosse étoile de la galaxie."
Thanks
I notice at times that when the full text is presented in the end, it may differ from the preferred translation given during the test. Both wording and word sequence may differ in a way that is not covered by the alternative translations suggested during the test.
Hello,
I need to make my TEF french test in 8 months and I am looking to reach B2 in reading, writing, speaking and listening. I am currently at A0 (I am much better than A0 but I would like to start there). How should I go about studying from A0 to B2 to reach my goal? What should I start with (grammar? listening?), how should i go about studying every day that mixes everything in? Is the vocabulary on the website good enough for a high B2 for my exam?
Pourriez-vous m'expliquer pourquoi dans cette phrase il faut utiliser le pluriel: a + les = aux?
aux alentours
ou
aux environs
Merci!
Why the imperfect for Sophie and Grandma, but the perfect tense for the parents ?
In this page: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/irregular-re-verbs/, naître is included in "Really irregular -re verbs" instead of being grouped with "7) Verbs like connaître". Just wondering if there is a difference in present tense conjugations between the two that I'm missing?
