Really don't understand why the waterpolo is faire du versus jouer au. There is a ball involved, n'est pas?
I am having a difficult time deciding when devoir is appropriate and when it is not. All the other applications, I am ok with. But if devoir implies "must have" why is a purse a necessity? Why not just Avoir besoin? And why is sleep NOT a necessity (or I may be getting this confused at this point). This is getting to be more of a guessing/memorization thing than an actual understanding thing. I see from the previous posts that this has been discussed ad infinitum so it's not just me. Any easy way to decide when to use devoir and when NOT to use it in this context?
Thanks
Salut, dans vos premiers indices, pourquoi donnez-vous "Bonne chance" = "good luck," quand le meilleure reponse est "la bonne fortune"?: Merci.

I have Dell XPS 12, with Windows 10 21H2.
Each time I try to generate an accented character in KwizIQ, I end up with 14 characters. So, as soon as the accented character is presented, I watch 13 other identical but non-accented characters marching across the screen.
I tried several mice. Each mouse produces the same pattern.
My touchpad is always off.
Please advise.
Thanks
Hello,
I'm sorry if this has already been spoken about (I have had a look but there is so much on this subject). I was asked the question in the main quiz "________ de tout mon cœur." - Now I thought as it is so deeply expressed and the "note" section in the topic states "NOTE that you can also use the verb adorer to emphasise love of something or someone", I would use "J'adore Sarah". However, I was marked wrong and should have been "J'aime Sarah". So I find the note section misleading. Maybe that should be expressed differently?
Cheers
Martin
Hi, Do you have a list of verbs that are followed by à and de? And is there a simple way to remember which is the right preposition to be used post which verb?
A little bit to fast for me. I'm (probably) A2 - ie, not quite at the dizzy heights of B1 (That seems to be an impossible dream at the moment).
Having read the transcript and read the translation, I was able to follow most (70%) of what the narrator was saying.
I thought French was supposed to be easy! (It isn't).
I'm killing myself trying to learn it. I'm a doctor and supposed to be smart but French is the hardest thing I've ever done....
HELP!
Depuis 1945, le système de sécurité sociale est financé par les entreprises et tous ________ qui travaillent en France.Since 1945, the social security system has been funded by businesses and all those who work in France.
I'm confused.. why is ceux the correct answer? Does 'ceux' refer to "all those who work in France" or something else?
Does the phrase …..(aller) mieux que…” introduce the subjunctive mood?
