A) "parce que j'aime la nourriture" wasn't a sufficient translation, although "because I love food" was the given sentence. The translations which were provided imply "I love food a lot" or "I really love food." Could more context be given other than "because I love food?"
B) "Résolue" is synonymous with "déterminée," is it not?
C) "Je vais manger équilibré" is not implicitly the same thing as "Je vais manger sainement." A balanced diet can be extremely unhealthy, (at least to my mind), as it implies eating more food groups, not necessarily less fatty or lower calorie or lower sodium foods. Are they synonymous in France?
d) "inscrire à la gym" seems to imply joining a (gymnastic) gym, while "inscrire au gym" implies a (physical fitness) gym, or am I mistaken??

This seems to be a repeated question which I have yet to find a clear answer to. Jaques est descendu du haricot magique is translated as Jaques got off the magic bean and not came down the magic bean. However, looking at my bilingual dictionary (Le Grand Robert Collins), under the entry for descendre as an intransitive verb is included "descendre de l'échelle" translated as "to come down the ladder". This seems to be contradicting the information given here and I would be grateful for further comment
Is splitting the bill a common occurrence in french restaurants?
Listening to the pronunciation of verbs like appeler in the first and second person plural, I don’t here any separate syllable in the verb where the single “l” is. , as in vous appelez, or nous appelons. It’s as if the “e” is simply omitted and the word is pronounced like “ applez” and “applons”. This is much more obvious with the female voice than the male. Could you clarify the pronunciation please?
1) To copy (record) something onto a notebook : copier qch. dans un carnet ?
2) To copy (fraudulently) the exercise from a friend : copier l'exercice sur un ami ?
3) To copy some sentences from a book : copier des phrases sur un livre ?

Is it acceptable to use future proche for this article. For example, I think I said 'Je vais rendre visite ... ' rather than 'Je rendrai visite'. Is the event discussed too far in the future to be able to use the future proche?

I'm just wondering when Italian will be added in 2023 (which month)? I have an exam and really would love to use Kwiziq to revise!
It would benefit me and expedite my studies if the direct English translation were available just beneath the full text. Though I usually understand the overall meaning of the text, I still have a few words on each exercise that are not obvious or already a part of my vocabulary. Certainly I can copy and paste into google translate, but this takes unnecessary time and switching between windows. Google translation is not perfect and sometimes offers an awkward rendering. In this example, I was not used to the use of the word pistes to indicate ‘tips.’ I was also not familiar with ‘quant’ or ‘AVC.’
On a completely separate issue, I could benefit from a brief explanation of why particular verb forms are used in certain situations—use of the imparfait here created a little confusion. A little ‘teacher’s notes’ section could be useful.
I get a lot out of work out of these dictees and appreciate having the opportunity to practice them. I think with a little bit of extra explanation from your side, they could benefit me even further. Thanks for your consideration.
