I thought the verb "lancer" means to start/initiate, and "jeter" means to throw.
Can someone please explain the second part of this sentence (in the "Tip" box of the lesson)? I'm not clear what "...and not regardless of which, like with verbs such as..." part of the sentence means.
You won't use this in Indirect Speech where whether = if and not regardless of which, like with verbs such as se demander (to wonder) or savoir (to know).
Is there a difference in meaning between "J'ai été là pendant quarante-cinq minutes" vs. "J'étais là pendant quarante-cinq minutes"? My inclination was to use passé composé because it was an action that happened and ended, but I see the latter sentence in the lesson example. Can someone please explain the difference?
I think this is a typo in the last sentence. It should be "cet après-midi" not "cette".
