When I buy cat food for my (many) cats, many of the products are translated into French. What I have seen written by manufacturers almost exclusively for dry cat food  is “nourriture sèche pour chats.” That said, what I think you’re trying to teach us is the more colloquial term, as the English might say “crunchies” and we Americans might say “kibble;” hence, “les croquettes.” Am I correct in that neither is wrong?  (FYI, I am checking with two friends of mine who live in France who are cat breeders. I am curious to see what they say.)

"chat" is a masculine noun in French, but can I use it to refer to my female cat? 

When I'm talking about her, e.g. my cat is going to eat her breakast, do I still say

"Mon chat vas manger son petit-dejeuner?" 

What is the best way of talking about my female cat in this context?

In this example: “une blonde comme le soleil fille” I said it was correct. But I think it means, in English, “a blonde like the sun girl”. If so would the correct answer have been “Une blonde comme la fille soleil” ? Thanks.

Why "Il a mangé la moitié de son pain" but "Il n'a mangé qu'une moitié du biscuit" ? The grammar note does not explain this.

So there were 2 questions, and this is how it went,

Le treize mars= the 13th March

Le quatorze juin= the 14th of June

And it told me that "the 13th of March" is incorrect. Is there a specific reason for that? Cause it seems like Le treize mars and Le quatorze juin have the same build..
