My answer "qu'est-ce qu'elle va acheter?" was marked wrong. Why?
how can get my translation right?
Imagine i got 4 out 80 available scores in this section ................
The translationof being an actress is je suis une actrice, pas une francaisee
Hi, the L in 'l'ai dit', is this just there to separate the vowels, or is it actually a pronoun? Doesn't really make much sense as a pronoun?
The problem here is not my knowledge of conjugating the verb, but being able to get the accent on the e from my windows keyboard. How do I do that please?
1. In your final translation you say “ je traverserais la ville sur une gondale “, which I understand, but could you say “ je traverserais la ville en gondale “ for “ I would cross the city by gondola “
2. My dictionary translates “ a feathered headdress “ as “ une coiffure “ and describes “ une coiffe “ as a lace headdress. Can I get away with simply stating “une coiffure” or do I need to clarify further with “ à plume “ ?
What would "some teacher" be in french if not -"un professeur"?
If it was "some teachers", It would have been ... something else?
Please can someone explain why, when there is an inverted question and the subject is a noun, there is not a comma after the subject, as I was taught when I learned French at school?
I understand when to use "de" as well as "de l" for vowels, however i also noticed sometimes "du" gets used which is confusing. Came across one of the posts by Tom in the comment section: j'ai besoin de soutien - I need support (general)
J'ai besoin du soutien du gouvernement - I need government support (specific)
How come this is still correct which still contains the word "support" with a different article: j'ai besoin d'un soutien financier and NOT j'ai besoin du soutien financier,
This actually confuses me the most:
j'ai besoin de soutien and NOT j'ai besoin du soutien. Last i checked, le soutien est masculin.
