I thought "une paire" could be used as well as "un couple". Does "une paire" imply something like "two things that match/belong together", more than "un couple" does? In English, I would very likely refer to two horses in a field as "a pair of horses", whether they looked alike or not.
I know on Lawless site there are lots of conjugation tables (thank you). It would be great to have conjugator table quizzes (by level) where some of the answers are missing and you have to fill them in. Even just for the most common verbs. Just a suggestion really.
In English there is a formal difference between "old" and "antique". For a car to be "antique", it must be at least a certain number of years old. Similarly, "veteran" cars must also be at least a certain number of years old, which is less than the definition of "antique". Isn't there a formal distinction between "old" and "antique" and "veteran" in French?
.Why isn't it "Les parents n'avaient pas cessé de râler et de se disputer"?
Could you also say “Ma mère devrait arriver bientôt” instead of “ma mère…d’ici peu”
Bonjour,
In the dictation, why does it say, "l'appart EN colocation" (shared appartment) and why not "l'appart DE colocation"?
Why can't you use ça est? You correct this to ça c'est.
Are there more lessons about this pronoun ? I am asking here because Google is being less than useful
I can’t quite understand why the subordinate clause here is in the present when the main sentence is past. Nous avons passé une bonne journée ________d'avis. I wrote “sans que je n’aie changé” but the correct answer was in the present “sans que je ne change”…
(We had a nice day without my changing my mind).
