I have a question about the pronunciation on the conjugation page of the verb étudier, I looked it up to understand the difference between present and imperfect of the nous and vous forms.
I found that it gives je étudie rather than j’étudie and that the il and on forms of "étudiait" are pronounced differently from "elle étudiait". Is this correct?

As "cousines" is plural, is there a reason for saying leur instead of leurs?
Perhaps I have misunderstood the rule.
j'ai mangé la moitié du chocolat j'ai mangé un demi-chocolat
Okay?...So if you are speaking about "the" other options then des autres is correct? And if it is about other options then d'autres? Or if you are talking about specific options right in front of you is it then les autres? I sometimes think French was conceived in order to confuse all other non-native speakers! Please try again to explain.
Thank you.
