I just want to clarify can the following be either, 'what is this' or 'what is that?' If not, how do you change the sentence to be one or the other?
Or is it it for example:
qu'est-ce que c'est : What is that?
qu'est-ce que c'est que cela: What is this?
Qu'est-ce que c'est que cela ?What is that? / What is this?Qu'est-ce que c'est que ça ?What is that? / What is this?C'est quoi ça ?What is this? / What is that? The translation is
Martin hasn’t been here long.
If the sentence is in le passé composé wouldn’t “depuis longtemps” mean “in a long time” and thus the translation would be “Matin hasn’t been here in a long time “?
Regards
Catherine
What are cucurbitaces? The translation gives the same word and I can't find it in my dictionary. Thank you!
To go, come, climb down something. I don’t understand why a descendu doesn’t work for Jack climbing down the giant. The lesson seems to allow for it. Very confusing but not a phrase I’m likely to be using!
