Could you have said 'le mur en face' instead of 'le mur d'en face'?
Ces fêtes ________ incroyables.
It seems to me both Imparfait and Passé Composé could be used here, for different meanings.
"Ces fêtes étaient incroyables." Those parties [which happened regularly, a long time ago] were amazing.
"Ces fêtes ont été incroyables." Those parties [which were not long ago, and which happened only once (e.g. in a specific summer)] were amazing.
I just received 100% in levelA2, yet I keep getting suggested lessons for A2 even though I have taken B2 test. How do I get lesson recommendations for new level?
Is "Il va leur téléphoner." the same as " Il va téléphoner à eux."?
In other words, can a sentence written with indirect object pronouns be replaced by one with stress pronouns?
Je l'ai trouvé intéressant que l'on ne dit pas "aimer beaucoup" pour exprimer "aimer très fort". J'ai consulté ensuite quelques ressources sur Internet. Parmi des Français sont d'accord avec l'explication sur ce site mais il y a bien d'autres Français qui ne sont pas d'accord avec elle et qu'ils croient qu'"aimer beaucoup" est le même qu'"aimer très fort".
Existe-t-il des différences dialectiques, peut-être?
"Elle va au marche" i always thought that if there is a vowel right after like va and au that we abbreviate?
I have probably changed the translation by thinking of “my company” as “my firm” (which is what i say in everyday English in this situation) and using “ma société”, but i’ve always been unsure of une société vs une entreprise vs une compagnie. Can this be clarified for once and for all !!?
The text uses the infinitive for "je passerai la soiree a parler ..." and the gerund for "Geraldine s'ennuiera en ecoutant ..." Why is the infinitive used in the first part of the sentence and the gerund used in the second part?
