I am guessing that the verb "mettre" was chosen over "porter" because the latter had already been used twice; otherwise "porter" would have been an acceptable choice in "...toutes mes tenues de soirée en même temps. " Am I right?

Is "trop" always coupled with "de" when it is followed by a noun?
The sentence tout le monde éclata de rire quand ils ont vu uses first the passé simple and then the passé composé. Why is the same form of the passé not used for both ? I read in the Lawless French article on the passé simple that it's not used in conjunction with the passé composé (https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/passe-simple/).
Relatedly, in an inverted question like "La fille a-t-elle un chat ?" , is the placement of the subject at the beginning done solely for emphasis? If so, would it be uncommon for a comma to appear after it?

Apparently, when the subject is a noun or name, that subject remains in place and is repeated in the form of a subject pronoun.
According to the notes, Jacques a descendu ... could mean he climbed down off the giant. I picked this answer, too, and it was wrong. Why? Thanks for your help.
for translating the phrase, "who had been waiting for the snow...the correct answer used the imparfait. Wouldn't that be translated as was waiting? (Rather than had been waiting)
Why is it that the 'nous' form of the verb "finir" is conjugated as "finissons" but the 'nous' form of the verb "regrossir" is conjugated as"regrossissons"?
I had written 'dans lequel', but received a wrong answer.
In reading the lesson, it stated that after a noun 'dans lequel/le' can be used instead of 'où'.
Why is 'où' the only answer here?

Why is it necessary to add "du matin" to "cinq heures trente" . Isn't it understood that it's 24 hour time, and it's therefore, AM?
