I don't get why the tenses change from perfect to imperfect? it's the same sentence?
In the follow sentance someone is reporting back what was said to them.
"donc, au beau milieu de la nuit tu serais allé boire un verre d'eau et tu aurais vu une soucoupe volante dans le jardin, excuse-moi!"
Why is the conditional being used here instead of the passe compose. And if I were to speak this sentance using the passe compose would it be incorrect. Thanks.
As I understand it, dans can also be used when the sentence implies a future action but not duration?

What are the positives and negatives of moving to the countryside in French
I see in an exercise that "I'm having new sandals made." is translated as "Je me fais faire de nouvelles sandales." I don't understand why the "me" is necessary in this case. I can see why for verbs like brosser, couper, raser, doucher, and so on. But not in this case. What am I missing?
When do you use "que" and when do you use "dont"?
If I recall, the hint was to use the term, 'Ivory Coast', which tricked me up. I normally would use 'Côte d'Ivoire'. I opted to accept the hint, which was not accepted. I felt duped by the hint. Perhaps others fell into this same trap. Take a look at it.

I have a tiny off-topic question relating the articles of the nouns before qui/que.
Must the articles always be "les" instead of "des" because the noun is defined by qui/que later on already. Is this the right way to understand it?
The examples in this lesson always use un/une and verb of preference like "adorer" (which we all know must go with definite articles).
So I'm just asking what if I want to say: "They are the girls who I saw yesterday". Should it be:
a) Elles sont les filles que j'ai vues hier
b) Elles sont des filles que j'ai vues hier
