In the first sentence, there is "Baccaulauréat" in the answer, but the clue is "Baccalauréat."
I am also unsure about the use of the singular "siècle" in the last sentence since you do not have "siècle" after XVIIIe. Shouldn't the English be "Between the end of the 18th and middle of the 19th Centuries."? or "Between the end of the 18th Century and the middle of the 19th Century."?
I would have thought the pastry would have been called "le gâteau" not "le biscuit" --the former is a cake, the latter is a cookie, and a bûche is a kind of cake. Also, do some recipes for la bûche call for spreading ganache inside? I have only read recipes that call for a whipped cream sort of filling, saving the ganache for the exterior. I'm about the make my annual bûche de Noël and wish it were as simple as this version!
How would we best translate this ?
WordReference has a fixed expression "il serait temps" as "It's about time", so how does these sound ?
"It's about time to find a solution ! "
"It's about time a solution is found !" (Think I like this better than the first one).
Thanks. Paul.
Small mis-spelling.
“and I set the table with colourful plates.”
“et j'ai mis la table avec des assiettes multicolres.”
-> “multicolores”
This sounds like an opinion to me. I thought it should be in the imparfait. Could someone kindly shed light on this for me?
Is this an error? Or is "se maria" an actual phrase. I thought it should be "se marie".
I'm also wondering why it is not "s'est mariée". That's the phrase I would have used.
are both ok?
Why is the verb « aller » inserted in the answer ? « nous te disons de ne pas aller te coucher » . Why isn’t it « nous te disons de ne pas te coucher » ?
