Two questions about Tu and VousIf there's a case that my teacher (or teacher's assistent) is somewhere near my age or we have known each other for a while (usually educators want to be as quick as possible to befriend students during class, so that would be approximately two weeks), should I address them in Tu or Vous? Another case is that what if I've chatted with a person whom I've just met for an hour and after a while I text that person in Tu, would I sound repelling? Merci beaucoup in advance!

In terms of translating into French, it seems that the two phrases above are equivalent in meaning. All the examples use a construction in English that is correct but not necessarily how people would say it. It would be quite normal and grammatically correct to say the simpler phrase, "I just ate my breakfast." Would someone ever use the passe compose in the "venir de + infinitive", and if so, what does it mean in English? I expect that the venir in the pluperfect + infinitive would mean "I HAD just [done something]."

ConfusedIn another exercise, we were supposed to translate 'I got bored' to 'Je me suis ennuyé'. Isn't that also a state of being that should use l'imparfait?

près de / au coin deNous avons mis la hanoukkia ________ la fenêtre. I thought 'au coin de' meant by/near. In retrospect 'près de' sounds better. But why can't 'au coin de' be used in this case? Is it only used for placement in a room or by a building (geographical) vs by a person or object? Thanks!
