As it is the girl who says that she is sure, shouldn't it be "Je suis sûre que ... " instead of "Je suis sûr que ... ?

Also, is "Ce n'est pas grave" (with silent "ne") an accepted alternative for "C'est pas grave" in writing dictation? (I often can't hear all the little words in spoken French but still try to include them in my written responses)

Number of distinct conjugationsDoes anybody know how many distinct conjugations patterns there are in French? Three groups, as we know is a big understatement. Accounting for spelling changes and all irregularities, how many patterns must we learn to master French? Merci.

"Tu joues de la trompette ---> Tu en joues"Mais je crois que cette exemple n'est pas correcte: "Tu joues de la trompette ---> Tu en joues". Il vaut mieux "Tu joues à la trompette ---> Tu y joues", n'est-ce pas ?

Difference b/n "s'attendre a ce que" and "attendre que"

Hi All,

I dont quite understand the necessity of complicating life by using "a ce que" when we can simply use "que" with no losses in meaning. Is there really a difference?
