Why is "ce dont on a envie" (in the fourth sentence) not correct here? For that matter, why is "ce qu'on a envie" correct? The expression is "avoir envie de", isn't it? What am I missing here?
Also: why must the past tense in English ("didn't pay", "were encouraged") necessarily be translated as the present tense ("ne paye pas", "est encouragé") in French?
And finally, why is it incorrect to use "souhaiter" rather than "aimer" in the last sentence?
I still don't understand whey, "Qu'est-ce que le fois gras," Is not an acceptable way of saying "What is?" QUE (what) est-ce (is it) le fois gras.
Why is it any less acceptable than "Qu'est-ce que c'est que" The explanations just don't make sense to me. Could you clarify?

A shape as opposed to a fungus as in going mouldy.
I find this lesson utterly indecipherable, poorly explained and VERY frustrating. With material like this, I begin to wonder why I spent the money or the time.
Sometimes it's envie de, sometimes not. the explanations supplied DO NOT SUFFICIENTLY ANSWER THE REASONING AS TO WHICH ANSWERS ARE APPROPRIATE. I'll just eventually memorize the "correct" answers and move on. Stupid way to learn grammar.
Why is j'ai envie not followed by du or de la with food items, as is usually the case.

Je ne comprends pas l'utilisation de 'auxquelles' dans la phrase suivante 'Cette terre fertile produit de nombreuses gourmandises: olives, lavande, vignes, truffes, abricots, auxquelles il est très difficile de résister'
Pour quoi je ne pourrais pas également dire 'Cette terre fertile produit de nombreuses gourmandises: olives, lavande, vignes, truffes, abricots, qui sont très difficile de résister' ?
Has anybody seen the subtítles in the video ?
Bonjour Madame,
What does the phrase “Qu’est-ce que vous avez de bon aujourd’hui?” mean ?
I am unable to get the meaning in the dictionary.
Merci d’avance.
Hi,
I wondered whether islands take the feminine gender? For instance, how would one say:
in/to/ from Sri Lanka; and
in/to/from Ceylon
Thanks,
Yvette.
