This lesson is about the expression ‘faire exprès de’ + infinitive. My question is whether the word ‘exprès’ can also be used directly after other verbs to equally mean ‘on purpose’. For example, in the examples above is it possible to say “mon petit frère a cassé exprès ma poupée” and “j’ai renversé exprès mon verre” to mean the same things as “mon petit frère a fait exprès de casser ma poupée” and “j’ai fait exprès de renverser mon verre” ?
&Can you please clarify the meaning here? The translation, Paula doesn’t think much of the environment, is a bit ambiguous (and awkward ounding). In English this could mean (and one would more likely say) either “Paula doesn’t care much about the environment”, or “Paula doesn’t spend much time thinking about the environment.” But of course they mean different things. Which meaning applies here?
the way the explanation is written suggests you are talking about more than one pronoun – not just ‘me-moi’. Are there others?
i.e. 2- THEY are placed after the verb………
Are we supposed to use definite articles with adorer,Aimer, detester and préférer verb instead of partitive articles?
J'aime les fruits
J'aime des fruits
Which one is correct?
Hi,

And, where is the word "hold" in this translation:
Although some elected officials concurrently hold several offices,
Bien que certains élus de la République cumulent plusieurs mandats,
thank you
This lesson is about forming compound nouns -noun + à + verb-infinitive ' without a hyphen (as in the many examples kindly provided in your response). Is the construction in this lesson an alternate way to create a compound noun? What is the grammatical construction or rules, being followed by the examples I gave? I came across them in a french textbook and would like to know where I can find an explanation governing this use. Additional examples are: "Une voiture à vendre", "Un pull à laver". Merci d'avance!
Bonjour - for some reason i'm having a really hard time with this lesson. My confusion is the fact that the lesson instructs that the order is reversed with reminding someone of someone else, which I understand well enough.
My problem comes in the test, for a perfect example:
"You remind him of Audrey Hepburn" to which the answer is:
Tu lui rappelles Audrey Hepburn
This seems like the exact same order as the English. Any tips or help would be appreciated. Merci d'avance.
