Is un repas an acceptable alternative to un dîner ?

Also chez nous instead of à la maison.

I dont understand the recorded pronunciation in this phrase : Les plantes produisent l’oxygène. Why is the “ent” silent in produisent?  And why is the “l” silent in l’oxygène?

In the last sentence, "nous nous écrions : "Bonne Année !", why is the verb reflexive, or, why is the second nous, needed?

Could you have 'ça' in this sentence as an alternative to 'ce' ?

It does not seem incorrect based on these 3 sources. Not sure what I am missing in these definitions that would make < pendre > incorrect.
