Regarding Cathy's question, the two following answers were accepted as being correct with both là and y replacing 'dans une clairière'. The first was the answer given by KWIZIQ as the first choice.
1. je me repose là pendant quelques minutes.
2. je m'y repose pendant quelques minutes.
I understand that y can replace 'dans + place', and I often read that y and là have different meanings, but have never found a clear explanation as to when you 'can' use one or the other when referring to a place.
I would really appreciate someone explaining to me why both are correct.
Hi there I am wondering if you could explain why the Lui is used in l'accordeon lui touchait le menton instead of L'accordeon qui touchait le menton ? So it would literally translate to " the accordion to her touched her chin "

In the following question I am marked wrong for se reposent-t-ils... With the answer given as se reposent-ils
Think I can see the answer that the T is already there and just needs pronouncing.. is there any indication in written french when a silent T should be pronounced?

I understand how they are formed but I don't understand when they should be used and when they shouldn't be used. I don't understand how to determine whether the verb should be reflexive or not and in what type of sentences you should use it, could you please clarify this for me. Thanks in advance.
I was surprised to see « de la confiture de framboises » indicated as incorrect (the final 's' getting the red strikethrough), not as an acceptable alternative. Only the singular « framboise » was indicated as correct, although the question was raised a year ago and it was noted that either is acceptable.
The plural « framboises » is clearly not incorrect and should not be marked so. Otherwise, it looks like Bonne Maman et St Dalfour may need to change their labelling.
