Hi , the point I was trying to make in my question immediately below was that the lesson states that the subjunctive applies after 'vouloir que' where a desire for "someone else" to do something is involved.  In the sentence that I quote it is 'something else' that is involved i. e. son film, and not "someone else".

 Could you please clarify.

Hi. Elsa eats and I buy.. Shouldn't you rather use the progressive form in the translations, Elsa is eating and I am buying, as the simple present  denotes habitual or repeated actions, as if Elsa were eating them every day and I buying new sheets daily ?

How does one express "this soup (or whatever) needs pepper! That is to say, this soup must have pepper (in order for it to taste ok)? Is 'il faut' acceptable or is 'avoir besoin de' the way to express?

Why does this use Charles LE sept and not Charles sept?.. following the link, we get Louis quatorze and Elizabeth deux.

Je ne voir aucun assiettes. Apparenty it should be assiette. Why does the noun have be singular? I don't see any PLATES!

I struggled with this translation.  Part of it is not having sufficient vocabulary to do it (mostly because of not having been exposed to much of it in previous work) and part of it is not knowing exactly what the expected answers might be.  I have come to dread these exercises (I much prefer the dictees) and feel really quite inadequate at the end of each.  Should I drop back a level and work on B1 rather than B2 exercises or should I just say to  **** with it all and be content with the (inadequate) level of proficiency I've acquired?  I am feeling very discouraged!!

Salut! Just want to clarify regarding Fais-tu avoir de la monnaie?

Would the correct form be: est-ce que tu fais avoir de la monnaie?

I don't quite understand tho why the first form is wrong. Help please :)

What is the difference between "Raconter" and "Dire"?  Both are "to tell".  Is it context?
