I'm being a bit pedantic but in English the first phrase is not

If I was rich I would go to Japan

that grammar is incorrect because it's conditional and it should be

If I were rich I would go to Japan

Does the presence of a verb in the clause after "trouve" distinguish the two uses from each other?

Elle trouve que Sam EST belle.

versus

Elle trouve Sam ennuyeuse.

Does it work as a guide/rule that:

The presence of a conjugated verb after "trouve que" suggest both that

1) "trouve que" is being used in the sense of "think/find that...(clause)," and also

2) that "que" is necessary in the formation of such a sentence?

For comparison: "Elle trouve Sam est belle" would be grammatically incorrect.

In the translation of 'it's not sufficient' why is 'cela' preferred over 'ce' in the phrase 'cela n'est pas suffisant' ?

Connaître v. savoir

In the fill-in-the-blank test "Choisir un cadeau", in which one chooses either connaître or savoir (conjugated), two sentences don't fit into the scheme "savoir if clause with conjugated verb or with following infinitive" v. "connaître if followed by noun". These sentences are:

"Ah, c'est bon à _____!" and "Ça, je ne ______ pas!"

The answers for both were savoir and sais. Why?

Use of e in passé composé but not in Présent

We use extra e for féminin elle in passé composé. Why not in Présent tense.

elle s'est réveillée. (Passé composé)il/elle se réveille (Présent)
