Dates with cent/cents

I can’t figure out when to make cent plural when writing dates. I see it is plural in 1900 but not in most other dates.

Asking a question that leads to this negation, which tense to use here = ' Past/Present

While the lesson is clear that the le passé composé is used here to use depuis for negation, I'm not sure how to ask the question that leads to this response:

For example: When was the last time you your mother saw you?

- Is it: Quelle était la dèrniere fois/Depuis quand ta mere t'a vu/te vois?

In either the case the answer would be in passé composé: for instance: Elle ne m'a pas vu depuis longtemps

Confusing question

Questions including sentenses like "This bedroom is grey. - Yes, it's grey here." make absolutley no sense to me.

What is "Yes, it's grey here" referring to? The weather, or a completely different bedroom perhaps.

As I have no idea, I have to quess and and so keep getting the answer wrong.

I would be grateful if you could tell me what the question means by using different words.

Translations of take

In the first sentence, "...if you ended up alone on a desert island, and (that) you could only take one thing with you..." the french verb prendre is not accepted for take. Yet in the third sentence, "OK, if I had to take one thing I can't do without...", prendre is in fact usedfor take. The context seems the same in both sentences. Should not prendre be acceptable in the first sentence as well ?
