When the question "Je suis partie ___ jours" (I left for about fifteen days) is encountered in a quiz it may not be originating from this lesson yet the answer "pour environ quinze" is not accepted. Shouldn't it be? Aren't both this and "pour une quinzaine de" equally valid French here?

Bojour, Why is "Nous ne savions pas lire avant" translated as "We couldn't read before" !! Whereas it ought to be "We did not know how to read before.

I agree with previous user comments. The only time a point is used in numbers in English is to denote decimals i.e. 14.052 means 14 whole parts and the rest would in effect denote the fraction, 52/1000. Commas or spaces would be used to denote the number fourteen thousand and fifty two : 14 052 or 14,052. I've done mathematics at university level but am getting my answers of how to write numbers in English 'wrong'. Your course is fantastic but this section on number writing definitely requires modification.

sound clip for 66,50 £ £ 66.50 confusingIn the examples for currency placed after price, the first sound is a bit confusing to me. It sounds like soixante-six __________ cinquante lbs. I can't figure out what word she is saying in between 66 and 50 pounds? Merci.

Normally today we use "eight forty" as an example, is "huit quarante" acceptible, or "huit heure quarante"?

I really disagree with the choices on this question...The question was «Oui, je le crois» CANNOT mean...

I can't speak for how English is used everywhere in the world, but at least where I'm standing, there is absolutely no difference between "I believe", "I believe so", and "I think so." They mean exactly the same thing. The choice that is the most different (by a tiny margin) is "I believe him."
I'm guessing that the idea you were going for is that if I'm believing "him", I'm not believing "in him", but I'm believing an idea that he has previously presented... but you didn't show any examples of that type of usage in the lesson. So given my choices, it looks like "le" is replacing a person in that choice.
My other questioin, of course, was a very similar question with similarly confusing answers.
«Il ne le croit pas» CANNOT mean...
There are often times on this site when, as far as I'm concerned, two choices are equally correct in English, but I can usually tell from the context which one you WANT me to pick, based on what the topic is. But these particular questions are a bit odd to me because leaving off the word "so" makes no difference at all.

Hi, I’m having difficulty with this. The lesson said that a correction had been made to allow both « qu’est-ce que c’est le Sacré Cœur (le Quai d’Orsay) and qu’est-ce que c’est que le Sacré Cœur (le Quai d’Orsay) to be considered correct. However, today my answer with « qu’est-ce que » was marked wrong

To answer "Tu veux venir à la piscine?", is there any difference from saying "Oui, je le veux" instead of "Oui, ce que je veux"?
