In the test one of the questions is Je ________ si j'avais une voiture.

The answer to the question is Je partirais si j'avais une voiture.

However, my question is about "j'avais une voiture." Why is it j'avais (imparfait) and not j'ai une voiture, considering that its in the present? Is this related to the subjunctif? Cause I have a feeling this has to do with the subjunctif :D

It's like contredire in the present tense.Couldn't help but notice, but lire is a lot like contredire, interdire, predire in the present conjugation. " contredis contredit contredisons contredisez contredisent. " " lis lit lisons lisez lisent. " Maybe this page should mention that as a fun fact, I know it makes remembering how to conjugate different categories of irregular verbs easier when I know that they're conjugated the same way as each other.

Note that to form the Superlative of adverbs, it is similar to the Superlative of adjectives, EXCEPT you only use the definite article le plus / le moNote that to form the Superlative of adverbs, it is similar to the Superlative of adjectives, EXCEPT you only use the definite article le plus / le moins (there is NO agreement with adverbs, as they have NO gender). But one of the examples uses "au":Je le ferai jeudi au plus tard.
I'll do it on Thursday at the latest.

se marier - simple past or passé composé?In the examples we have "Elle se maria cette année-là." and in the quiz "Je me suis marié ce jour-là". I think the first is the simple past, the second passé composé - but why choose one over the other? Or are they equivalent?

FUTUR PROCHE vs FUTUR SIMPLE

Dear Aurelie,

Thanks for the excellent exercises, precise grammer and support.

I have a question about Futur Proche and Futur Simple. At what point/time do we change from Futur Proche to Futur Simple: 6 hours, 1 day,...? I do not remember seeing any rules about this.

Marie "EN" a déjà tous achetés.

Since the article here is "des" and not "les"... We just know there are "some" presents to buy, not any specific ones.
