Hi Team,
Does the following sentence work in French:
Cela ne tient pas compte d'effets négatifs de la lumière bleue qui perturbe notre horloge biologique.
Bonne journée !
Why is quiz not plural in the follwing sentence?
On va regarder des films d'horreur et faire des quiz sur le thème d'Halloween.
If ce qui/ ce que is supposed to be used to refer to a part of a sentence/ an idea, instead of just a single word, then why does this sentence use ce que?:
"C'est tout ce que j'ai dit"
I know that 'tout' could be considered a general idea, but why is ce que not used in this sentence, when 'quelque chose' is also a general idea?:
"C'est quelque chose que j'ai dit"
« Elle se maria » [cette année-là] I don’t recognise the conjugation of se marier?
How come the above is wrong according to my latest kwiziq test? (A qui and auquel are the correct answers).
I was struggling to remember/understand this rule of pronoun and indirect and direct order and how it changes depending upon me/te etc or lui/leur etc and came across 'the selfish rule' in a grammar book which helped.
Me first, object second, other people third, then Y and En.
I guess it's another way of remembering the rule as given here, "The order is ALWAYS:
me/te/nous/vous (before) le/la/les/l' (before) lui/leur."
“au-dessus de l’assiette “. When I read this I picture the cutlery floating over the plate. “Dessus de l’assiette” I can imagine the cutlery sitting above the plate. Pouvez-vous m’expliquer pourquoi on utilise au-dessus vs dessus dans cette phrase.
This is clearly C1 level listening. Too hard
In the question...
________ retarde le train, c'est la grève.What delays the train is the strike.... I wrote "Cela qui". Why is "cela" not acceptable?
I love how she can roll the r three or more times on the word "cruel"! J'aime comment elle peut rouler le r trois ou plus temps avec the mot "cruel". (Did I get this correct?) ;)
