Demi/demieIs there a reason it should be "et demie" and not "et demi"? The former is the feminine and the latter the masculine form, right?

Is there a rule for using liaison after "mais."I hear the different usages of liaison with "mais" before words beginning with a vowel. In your video "La Bretagne se révèle en Côtes d'Armor" the speaker sometimes uses it and sometimes does not before the same sound, making her difficult to understand. Is it simply facultative or is there more to it. Thanks.

Cela étant dit = That being said?One of the test questions was to translate "That being said" to French. Is "Cela étant dit" a correct translation? It was not accepted as such, but some web searching shows that at least other people think that one is correct in addition the official answer "cela dit".

Why would one say "il me reste des croissants" when "croissants" is a plural word and "il me reste" is a singular phrase? Is this just an expression?
