According to the lesson of negative form using partitive articles: du, de la, de l' and des all become de or d' (in front of a vowel or mute h) in negative sentences using ne...pas, ne...jamais, ne...plus.
How do I know when to use ne...pas, ne...jamais or ne...plus in the negative form based on the affirmative sentence?
The lesson states: A) If it/he/she is is followed by un/une/le/la... (any form of article / determinant) - it is a beautiful dress / she is a nice person - then you will use c'est.
Now not being a native french speaker, and still very much a student, it still feels wrong to use “c’est” here, as so the lesson also states: B) il est/elle est for statements and opinions related to specific things
As we’re talking about a specific, pre-mentioned person, “Valentine,” the obvious answer is “Elle est une très bonne danseuse.” However, the “C’est une très bonne danseuse” is listed as correct. Is this an error? Or what am I getting wrong here?"
The use of "aussi bien que" puzzles me. Wouldn't "ainsi que" be the correct usage in this context such as:
L'Angleterre, ainsi que la France, a combattu l'Allemagne en 1914.England, as well as France, fought Germany in 1914.
In contrast, "aussi bien que", means a comparison of abilities such as:
L'Angleterre a combattu l'Allemagne aussi bien que la France en 1914.England fought Germany as well as (as efficiently as) France in 1914.
What are cucurbitaces? The translation gives the same word and I can't find it in my dictionary. Thank you!
Why does this use Charles LE sept and not Charles sept?.. following the link, we get Louis quatorze and Elizabeth deux.
why not use "exiger" for require, demand. ça demand = ça exige ?
1/ Nous avons froid quand vient l'hiver
2/ Nous avons froid quand l'hiver vient
