I want to say "I have not written since December. Is this the correct way to say that: Je n’écris pas depuis décembre.
Il a gagné la course, ce qui est impressionnant. He won the race, which is amazing.
Ce qui in this suggests the word race is the subject. Why? I am really struggling with which is the subject or object in more complex sentences. Isn’t he the subject doing the winning ?Why is plus-que-parfait used in this sentence: Après avoir été témoin de la naissance de son poulain, j'avais refusé de les quitter et la fermière m'avait laissé dormir dans l'écurie avec eux.
Doesn't plus-que-parfait suggest that the actions had occurred before something else? Because we're talking about something that happened after the birth, shouldn't it just be passe compose?
i'm Scottish and "passer un exam" would be translated as "to sit an exam", so "Vous avez passé votre examen" to my mind would be "You sat your exam".
Just commenting :-)
For this sentence:
Je ferai parvenir le dossier à Jean Des que possible. The answer is je lui ferai parvenir le dossier Des que possible.
But when I have Je ferai parvenir ce document à votre avocat it translates to Je le lui ferai parvenir.
Can someone help me?
Thank you
Would be more useful is we could see what gender were countries starting with a vowel.
