Bonjour! I saw that interdire was used as follows: "....interdit aux buralistes de..." My question is: why are we using "à" in this phrase? In Spanish, we use a personal "a" in front of people but I don't know if that's the case in French. Would be very grateful for an explanation, thanks!

'en arrivant dans la maison' versus 'en arrivant à la maison'

I recently read that someone (who is a native speaker and well-informed on grammar and usage) said that it is incorrect to say 'en arrivant à la maison' -- that is is 'en arrivant dans la maison'. While confirming that 'en arrivant au restaurant, ...au musée, ...au théâtre' etc. is correct, they claim that when saying 'arriving at home' the preposition 'dans' must be used. Can someone tell me if this is true, and if it is if it's just "because that's the way it is" or if there's some grammatical explanation? Thank you very much for your help!

Why is "Nous avons seulement deux chambres" incorrect?

I understand why "Nous n'avons que deux chambres" is correct, but if I understood the lesson correctly then the option with seulement should simply be informal, but correct just the same.

"Faire des cadeaux a..."

This is a new expression for me for "giving a gift to someone". I know the expression, "faire quelque chose a quelqu'un" can be used in other ways such as "faire un calin a".

Are there many other similar expressions and is there a lesson on this subject?
