All the examples are with the verb ETRE.(TO BE). Is it correct to assume that this construct can work for ALL(??) 'copular' type verbs. I can't see it working with non 'copular type' verbs.
1)He looks great..and she does too == il a l'air bien et elle l'a l'air aussi(not sure of this one)
2)The roses smell pleasant and the carnations smell pleasant too== les roses sentent agréables et les oeilets le sentent aussi(smells ok to me).
etc etc!!
3)what about a sentence like "she became angry then they became angry too== elle s'est mis en colere ensuite ils le se sont mis (??)
Just asking 'for a friend' could you add a note in the lesson that the direct object pronoun occupies its usual place before the verb ...although it is acting like an adjective,
Hi. I am trying to work out why the pronoun "EN" is found in this sentence. Is it there to replace the implied "DE la soirée" as in "On était déjà à notre troisième cocktail de la soirée" ? Or am I way off track ? Thanks for shedding any light here.
(And another thought, could it have equally been "On y était déjà à notre troisième cocktail" with the pronoun "y" used instead of "en" - in this case to replace the implied "dans ce bar" ?)
I ai utilisé "se réunir" au lieu de "se retrouver" ou "se rejoindre" mais ce choix n'était pas accepté ? Pourquoi ?
My question is about a quiz question in this unit: "J'ai décidé d'apprendre à jouer du piano cette année." How do you know it's "apprendre *à* jouer" instead of "apprendre *de* jouer," for example. I think that French verbs differ in this respect, but I haven't seen any systematic explanation of it, and I don't even know how to talk about it in a way that could make internet search productive. Do you have any teaching materials about this, or can you help me to understand it better? Thanks in advance.
Based on the user questions here as well as on some other lessons, it seems Kwiziq would be well served to have some learners review the lessons to see if they are clear enough. I know I've seen quite a few pages that were unclear due to insufficient explanation or examples. (I just finished 4 semesters of French, so I'm not really learning but trying not to let it slip away. Still, I have noticed lessons that aren't as clear and/or complete as they could be.)
I wonder, what's the matter with question 1 in the quiz. I answered it 4 or 5 times and each time the result was the same three out of four! But I didn't mark the answer which says ICECREAMS, so I'm disappointed

In the video we have J'ai recu les lettres. Why then do we say Je les ai recues. ? Recevoir is is a verbe d'etat?

I was wondering if this sentence must always be written in this Order:
François, dont j'ai rencontré la femme le mois dernier.
The lesson says that there are cases in which we find the possession separated by a verb, but there is no explanation about whether that is a rule that must always followed or is another way of expressing things.
Is it correct to write it like this?
François, dont la femme j'ai rencontré le mois dernier.

With respect, I think that this lesson fails to make a clear distinction between the many different ways of using "to miss" and "missing" in English and "manquer" and "rater" in French. I suggest that the lesson be broken down and recreated as several lessons, each with a clear learning objective.
