The question: "I'll stay until you come back."
Answer: "Je resterai jusqu'à ce que tu reviennes."
I have given the correct answer 4 consecutive times but my answer is always recorded as: "Je resterai jusqu'à tu reviennes." This is NOT what I'm typing, but the answer repeated tells me that that's what I wrote and thus the question is repeated on every test!
Hi everyone, I have a question. I am struggling with the les and the leur.
Why is it "les" if it is "Je les ai aidés à déménager", but "Les enfants vont au bord de le mer; je leur ai acheté des vêtements d'été."
Thank you in advance.
Why is fascinee given with a feminine suffix in the sentence "Je n'ai jamais eu l'occasion d'y aller, mais ca m'a toujours fascinee." What does it refer to? Le cimitiere, peut -etre?? It doesn't appear that there is a feminine object for it to describe. Please explain
All the examples are with the verb ETRE.(TO BE). Is it correct to assume that this construct can work for ALL(??) 'copular' type verbs. I can't see it working with non 'copular type' verbs.
1)He looks great..and she does too == il a l'air bien et elle l'a l'air aussi(not sure of this one)
2)The roses smell pleasant and the carnations smell pleasant too== les roses sentent agréables et les oeilets le sentent aussi(smells ok to me).
etc etc!!
3)what about a sentence like "she became angry then they became angry too== elle s'est mis en colere ensuite ils le se sont mis (??)
Just asking 'for a friend' could you add a note in the lesson that the direct object pronoun occupies its usual place before the verb ...although it is acting like an adjective,
I ai utilisé "se réunir" au lieu de "se retrouver" ou "se rejoindre" mais ce choix n'était pas accepté ? Pourquoi ?
Can I write "Je les tiens précieusement" instead?
In another lesson (sorry I don't know the name of the lesson, since I encounter them randomly), you specifically state that this sentence is not correct:
"Elle me rappelle de Paula." How is that different from "Elle se rappelle de ce garçon", which is given in this lesson as correct? It seems that "de" is not allowed in the first sentence but it is allowed in the second sentence.
I love the audio on this lesson. The pauses on the punctuation give more life to the language.
Would this sentence be correct?
Je me réveillé à huit du matin. Nous sommes allées du faire shopping. Lorsque je suis rentré. Je pratiqye Mon français et je regarde le télévision.
Je nettorai ma chambre demain. Aussi je parle à Mon copain. Sure le telephone. Aujourd'hui je Marche dans mon visions.
Merci pour votre aider
That was an interesting article that Maarten linked regarding the inclusive French writing which is being promoted by various people. I am interested in how they pronounce words with middle dots such as "militant.e.s" or "ecrivain.e.s" (or are they only used in writing for the moment?)
