J'avais du mal à bien entendre cette vidéo à cause de la musique.....c'est un problème additionnel pour l'apprenant de français, surtout pour les gens qui sont un peu malentendants. Est-ce que vous pouvez offrir un choix...avec ou sans musique ?

Please explain why the selected être verb in this sentence is not written in the subjunctive  'Tu nous avais dit que tu n'y croyais pas, que tu serais satisfait avec la moyenne'. Why is it not rather  'n'y croyais pas que tu sois'?

Un ami m'a écrit que quand on utilise l'expression  "bien à vous" à la fin d'un email ça n'est pas écrit  par une femme à un homme.  On dit "Une femme n'écrit pas "'bien à vous" a un homme, une femme n'envoie pas ses "sentiments" à un homme." Qu'en pensez-vous ?  Quelle est la règle grammaticale appropriée ?

Pourquoi on dit" il vient à la canne" pas " au canne"?

 For "real disaster", shouldn't it be behind the noun?

In a quiz: 

Q:  Qui est cet homme?

A:  C’est Marc Dupré.

Why C'est and not Il est?  

The first rule in the lesson for C’est is that you use it if it/he/she is followed by un/une/le/la or another article.  That is not the case here.

The second rule is to use C'est to express general, unspecific statements and opinions, referring to a thing generally, as in something unspecified is great or delicious, like "Science is fun!".  But here, the answer is identifying a specific person, Marc Dupré, not a general concept.

How would "what's that (used) for" and "what does that mean" look in french (considering the three ways of asking question(s))?

1) À quoi ça sert? Que veut dire ça?

2) Ça sert à quoi? Ça veut dire quoi, ça?

3) Qu'est-ce que ça sert? Qu'est-ce que ça veut dire?
