What is the actual rule? Seems like we just memorize...

Present participle?

I'm confused. Doesn't ..ing in English denote the present participle? In French that would suggest "leaving" would be expressed as "partant", "talking" as "parlant" etc; not the use of the infinitive.

use of "aimer"

For,"I love my cousin Benjamin.", Kwizbot's answer: "J'adore mon cousin Benjamin. "

But in the PLF lesson on "aimer", I read that one of the uses of it can be in the love you have for a family member. Therefore, I translated the sentence as "J'aime mon cousin Benjamin."

Does "Qu'est-ce qui ... ?" exist in French? I already understand Qui, & Qui est-ce qui questions.

Hi,

Sorry if my questions is repeated from below but difficult to go through it all but will the tout + adjective remain tout even for mas.plu?

i was confused from the notes too where it is: nous sommes tout impatients.

I'm confused by a possible "counterexample"

In the book "Grammaire en dialogues. Niveau intermédiaire" by Claire Miquel, chapter 12, there's a dialogue which starts:

Benjamin : Quand est-ce que j'aurai une moto?

Le père : Je te l'ai déjà dit : quand tu auras passé ton bac.

Benjamin : « Quand j'aurai passé mon bac », c'est dans longtemps ! C'est dans six mois !

From my point of view, there's no much sense to promise anything for taking (being at) an exam instead of succeeding it. Could you please clarify this?
