Could someone clarify why imperfect is used in the above example? I thought it would be future (je viendra). The linked lesson is "Expressing continuing action with the imperfect tense in French" but this does not seem like a continuing action? And the rest of the sentence is in future tense as well.
Thanks in advance!
It would be great to have more exercises like this.
Puis-je écrire "Parmi ceux...." au lieu de "Entre ceux.." ? En anglais, si je me souviens bien, on dit "among" pour plus de deux personnes. Et encore, je ne parle pas toutes les deux langues comme ma langue maternelle.
How do I say “hello aunt, it’s nice to see you”
Je me confuse sur cette exemple: "il va manquer une chaise à ton oncle." I get "there will be a chair missing" but how does "à ton oncle" (which I read as "to your uncle") compute as "your uncle will be missing a chair"?
usage of se passer seems pure examples of pronominal usage and not reflexivity. seems important given the strict pronominal vs. reflexive discussions found elsewhere in course. non ?
I enjoyed the accompanying fill-in-the-blanks quiz, but wondered why there’s a COD in "l’assaisonner avec du sel" but none in the next phrase "faire rissoler dans une poêle" although both have "it" in the English sentences? The Kwiz doesn’t accept "faire dorer/revenir" but I guess that’s because they aren’t options given in the vocabulary list.
Is it commoner to issue a set of instructions using only infinitives? The French-style lemon tart writing exercise used the imperative throughout.

Hi, I had written a question on the linked lesson but I think perhaps this is a better space. I believe I had written "à un hôpital" and this was marked incorrect in favour of "dans un hôpital."
Is this because the focus of the sentence is the work experience which takes place inside the hospital? Or what is the reason why dans can be used but not à?
Merci!
Why are dashes included in transcriptions and why does Kwizbot detect the omission as being incorrect ? For example: I wrote "Et moi, je m'appelle Amina et je suis algérienne". Kwizbot detected my sentence as incorrect because it was missing the preceding dash: "- Et moi, ....". Of course, I gave myself 5 stars, but it's quite annoying to not receive a match in these cases. I hope this question makes sense.
I am confused about how to say have and when it is used. In English I use it to show possession I have. I can also use it to ask for something I will have (asking for something as in food or object) Can you help with my confusion.
