PronunciationI am unsire about the pronunciation of several forms of "avoir". Sometimes [a] dominates and sometimes [e], for example "que j'aie" is [kəʒe] but "avoir" is [avwaʁ]. How is "que nous ayons" pronounced?

Why can «On ne peut pas stationner ici» mean ‘You cannot park here’ but not ‘We cannot park here’? The verb tense doesn’t match either.

with plurals, de becomes des.....Why isn't it "Nous ne faisons pas partie DES amis" as "ses amis" is plural? But then I guess that would apply to "de les amis", so what's going on here?

Nous nous habillionsNous nous habillions à 6 heures et demie. We dressed up at half past 6. In English "dressing up" is closer to se costumer or se deguiser, I think. S'habiller is closer to "dressing"

Follow up question

For some reason I can't reply to a specific response, so I'll have to post this as a seperate comment.

This is a follow up question to Laura's translation of "She ought to really stop seeing him", which she wrote as "Elle devrait vraiment arreter de le voir." I'm wondering if the phrase "Elle devrait vraiment s'arreter de le voir" is also acceptable.

Specific dayWhy would the day of birth be à la? I understand from the text that a la is generally ´the day' and le jour de is a specific day. On the question Laurent est né ________ Saint-Patrick, the answer is contradictory. Please help clarify.
