In being asked to complete a phrase beginning 'un' and meaning 'a kind of talent' why is 'genre de talent' marked wrong? Is that not what it means? The dictionary gives une sorte , but un type is also possible. If you want us to translate the english 'a certain talent' , which is I think wat the French means and is certainly different from ' a kind of talent' which is rather perjorative, perhaps that's what you should ask us to translate?

Hi! Perhaps someone can clarify a problem I have in distinguishing when to use "de" versus "du".  I don't have any problems distinguishing between "du" partitive (J'ai mangé du pain) and using "de" when the sentence is negated (Je n'ai pas mangé de pain).  But in examples like the sentences I've listed from this exercise (Délicieuse Rédaction), how does one know to use "de" in "mon reste de ragoût" and "du" for "la porte du jardin"?  

The sentence to be translated - You could come with Alice and me if you want.

The correct response - Tu peux venir avec Alice et moi si tu veux.

What is the rule here regarding present tense vs conditional?

Is the audio for “parce que je n'ai pas envie de manquer le début du concert” correct? My “French ears” are admittedly not the best, but I’m not getting “envie de manquer” at all, more something like “vide … quel”…

I read in the evening 

Je lire la soiree

And 

I spent the day learning  French 

J'ai passe le jour apprendre francais

Would they be correct if not why?

During the exercise we see “ognon” instead of “oignon”, although this mistake is not present in the consolidated block of text at the end of the exercise. Here’s a copy/paste of the line during the exercise: “et mélangez-la avec l'ognon et l'ail finement hachés”
