In one of the examples, the phrase is C'est la robe que je porte au travail. Yet C'est is supposed to be used for general, unspecified statemements. The dress I wear to work seems very SPECIFIC, it is not a dress she wears to school, or to go shopping. What am I missing or not understanding?

On the lesson it says "In English, we drop the when talking about things in general"

However, on the mini quiz when asked what this means in English, it keeps the the

1. Elle n'aime pas les chate

Correct answer: She doesn't like the cats.

2. Il aime le fromage

Correct answer: He loves the cheese.

The lesson could also address how ‘qui’ and ‘que’ liaison with words that begin with vowels.

Can you please explain the difference in meaning between "Tu peux ne pas venir." and "Tu ne peux pas venir"?

The more generous we are, the more people will give back to us.

Plus il est un homme riche, plus je suis un homme pauvre. (plus modifies the verbs)

Plus riche un homme il est, plus pauvre un homme je suis. (plus modifies the adjs.)

I keep seeing "s'est" and such, but I don't know why it's used. I can't understand the meaning behind it, and I also see "s'est terminé" when terminer isn't a verb that uses etre when conjugated into passé composé.

Très difficile. Mais c'est pour ça que je suis ici, pour apprendre le français.

I am quite confused by the stars.  If I get 9/10 on a quiz and sometimes even 10/10 I don't get the stars as laid out.  I can send you screenshots.  I typically only get a bronze star for 8 or 9 out of ten, and never a diamond for 10/10.  What is going on?
